Important Things Newspaper Letters Decoupage Glass Tray

Some words deserve to be collected, arranged, and savored like little treasures. This tray celebrates that impulse, borrowing the playful cut-and-paste charm of old newspapers and magazines, where every letter carried its own personality. Bold serifs, quirky outlines, unexpected curves — each character once drawn to grab attention, spark curiosity, and make a headline sing.

Handcrafted in our New York atelier using the French tradition of découpage, every tray is a small study in intentional imperfection and found-object beauty. The vintage lettering rests beneath hand-cut bent glass, its edges soft and luminous, the back felted to protect whatever surface it lands on. Each piece is individually signed by Ben — a quiet nod to the artist’s hand behind the work.

Practical enough for keys, jewelry, or your own “important things,” yet striking enough to stand upright on a gallery easel or hang with a simple plate hanger. It arrives with a folded card sharing the heritage of découpage, because stories matter — especially beautiful, unexpected ones.

A reminder that creativity, randomness, and the little sparks of delight hidden in everyday life are also important things.
